My work in grant writing began not with a plan, but with a challenge. Early in my career, a mentor invited me to write my first grant, not because I was an expert, but because she recognized something in me that had not yet fully formed.

That first proposal was awarded for $50,000. What followed was a journey of learning how to steward funding with integrity and intention. Since 2015, I have helped attract more than $8 million in grant support for nonprofits in and around the Alabama's Black Belt.

What started as a challenge has shaped my understanding of what grant funding truly represents: trust, accountability, and the opportunity to help organizations thrive. Today, Greenwell Consulting exists to help leaders pursue funding that aligns with their mission and capacity, and to do so in ways that are sustainable, ethical, and effective.​
